Acoustic Comp is a beacon for emerging acoustic guitarists and musicians in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. It welcomes 40+ local music acts to compete on Thursday evenings over three months for a chance to win in a prize pool of over $5000.
Maton Guitars has offered an acoustic electric guitar for the Solo Prize worth over $1700, Mackie has offered a $1600 PA for the Duo/Trio winners, Studio 6 | Halftone Records offering studio time and $500 worth of Hans Music store vouchers. Additionally, we are trying to secure a place on the Maroondah Festival 2012 Community Stage for the five finalists. The Maroondah Festival is attended by over 20,000 people and held in November every year and would be a great bonus for the competitors. On the grand final day musicians from Melbourne's music scene will judge the event, previous judges have included Doug De Vries, Nick Charles, Dallas Frasca, Ben Smith to name a few.
As our fourth year running the Acoustic Comp we are excited to annouce that this year will be streamed live on the internet with interactive voting!
