In 1998 and 2002 Hans Music Spot received the "Highly Commended" Australian Achiever Award for "service in the field of music".

Since 2004 Hans Music got behind the Classical Guitar Society of Victoria and have worked with them to create a thriving classical guitar community.

Since 2005 Hans Music has run a songwriting competition known as Acoustic Comp with the help of local singer/songwriter Ben Campain. The comp has helped many local musicians out of the bedroom and onto the stage and brought a focus to the local music scene.

Since 2007 Hans Music has aided and assisted Rock School, a community initiative of local musician David Matson, whom is using Rock School to educate young musicians aged 11 to 15 years how to work in a real band together.

Since 2004 Hans Music has aided and assisted the Classical Society of Victoria, the CGSV Orchestra.

A bit about Hans

Hans Meyer is a well know musician to everyone in the music scene. He has been playing traditional and folk music since the 70's at the Cuckoo Restaurant in Olinda.

Hans has also donated over 20 years of his life to raising money for the local and national community with the Croydon Rotary Club. His commitment to local schools and community groups has meant music and education in the community has grown along with Hans Music Spot.

Since opening his doors for the first time in 1973 his philosophy of honest, professional advice for each and every customer has meant families and musicians have found the right product for their needs.
